"Moving Forward"...
This is our new theme of ministry this year. During our travels, we have come across so many people who have either accepted their present situation and have become idle, or are so discouraged they are now sliding backward. I believe the Bible when it says, "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." It is through His power that we have our strength. He does not desire for us to go backward, but to keep pressing toward the mark. "Moving Forward".
This first quarter has brought some real challenges and changes for us. We have encountered challenges with our unreliable truck and have traded it in for a much newer, more faithful truck. We had a challenge with our camper. The rear axle was no longer in alignment and needed to be fixed and a tire replaced. It is all part of regular maintenance as we put many miles on this camper since buying it a year ago at the end of February. "Moving Forward".
A couple of changes that have taken place this quarter is the moving of our daughters. Elizabeth, our eldest, has taken a position as an assistant business manager at the Lewisburg Baptist Church and Christian Academy in Lewisburg, WV. While Maggie, our youngest, has also come off the road and is working towards getting back to college. Please pray for us all as we are in transition...again! "Moving Forward".
Praise the Lord for all the encouraging meetings that we were able to be involved in this quarter. During these revival meetings, missions conferences, and ministry presentations, we have seen several souls saved. The ones that thrill me the most are the ones that God prepares before we ever go out soul winning. Like the grandmother that was just sitting on her front porch. She was taking a break from her twin toddler grandsons. She was so ready to hear the truth and trusted Jesus right there on her front porch. "Moving Forward".
We are currently doing a survey trip for a new church plant near Baton Rouge, LA. We will be working through the Central Baptist Church and Pastor Bobby Buchanan. The city where the church plant is to be planted is actually Port Allen, Louisiana and is located just across the Mississippi River from Baton Rouge. There are nearly 30,000 people in, around, and down the river from Port Allen. The sad thing is that there is not one Independent Fundamental Baptist Church anywhere near. Praise the Lord for the burden that Pastor Buchanan and Central Baptist have for these folks and their need to hear about the true love of Jesus and to plant a local, soul winning, KJV preaching, Baptist church for that area. Pray for God’s wisdom as we encourage the church as this new work takes shape. In November we will be back to help plant this new church. It is then that we will need your feet to help us get the message out. Please plan to come help us anytime in the month of November to put out literature about this new church in the community. "Moving Forward".
We are also working on scheduling meetings during the summer and fall months. Please let us know if you would like for us to come give an update on the newest church plant project and our thoughts and plans for the future. We are also available for any summer revivals or tent meetings.
Lord willing, we are still "Moving Forward".
